A new diagnostics brand, exclusively available from Midwest Motor Factors and Monmore Auto Parts, has debuted at the motor factor’s quarterly training event, held at GTG Wolverhampton.

The Inspex 8 is a powerful workshop productivity tool that lets technicians do more while they are working on a car. They can order parts, look up typical faults and failure rates and, perform servicing resets.

More than 50 garages attended the event to see the new product, which also comes with a VRM+  feature, enabling users to perform diagnostics for a specific vehicle via a log-in. By inputting details on the VRM Lookup such as model, engine code and registration date, technicians will be given access to that particular vehicle’s MOT history, mileage history, typical fault codes for that make and model, the most common failures and scan history.

Scan features include full system diagnosis for all makes and models, Service light resets, Coding, reset and programming functions, diesel particulate filters regen/replacement and live data recording & graphing. It also supports 12v cars and LCVs, e.g. Vivaro and Sprinter.

The Inspex 8 tool’s capabilities are also backed by technical support, with a customer hotline available for any registration or tool issues.

Also covered in the training event was the Edge original-equipment quality engine management programme, exclusive to Midwest and Monmore. The presentation examined all types of engine management products, specifically EGR valves and DPF pressure sensors. The event discussed each product’s function, construction and common problems faced by technicians and how to overcome them.

A raffle was held at the event with the lucky recipient, Josh Turner, from Neil’s Autos, walking away with £100 Love 2 Shop vouchers. Josh said: “It was another fantastic event from Midwest and Monmore and highly informative for independent garages. These events add real value as they help keep us up-to-date with the latest technologies and also what’s available from the motor factor.”
